Okay so this is for mojo. Keep in mind that I wrote it during class this morning and just typed it up. I'll edit and probably write more before I post it.

It’s been forty-five days, fifteen hours, and some seconds since Jason last wore his ring. At first he thought he’d feel empty, lonelier. And for the first few days he did, but wallowing in self-pity – the “what ifs” of the past – had never been his way. Nope, Jason Dohring was not one to wallow; the proverbial glass was still standing there, and it was most definitely half full, maybe even two thirds full – a shiny, tall glass filled with…possibilities.
Still, the one event that
had shocked him, what he hadn’t foreseen – more so than his divorce even – was the cancellation of
Moonlight. It was like last year all over again. Sure, he and some of the cast, Alex, and Sophia vowed to stay in touch, and that cushioned the blow a bit. But Jason knew that eventually they’d all get new jobs, maybe in L.A., maybe in New York and “staying in touch” would soon become the equivalence of shooting over an email every month or so.
At least, after three years on
Veronica Mars, he had gotten used to the strange medley of emotions that surrounded the month of May, that extreme anxiety and inevitable optimism always enveloped him when the network Upfronts began.
He’d been in New York for a day, arriving just in time to hear the news of the show’s cancellation. At least the cast had all gotten to spend some quality time together. After the news, they all went out for dinner and drinks.
In the morning Jason decided to wake up early and walk around, to really experience the city. It was the first day of the rest of his life or whatever other damn cliché and he planned to find out what possibilities might be in store.

He was on the corner of Broadway and Fifth, finishing an apple he’d purchased at the street market, when he spotted her. At first he wasn’t sure but then she smiled and well, he’d know that smile anywhere. She was wearing some blue jogging outfit and judging by the road blocks and numerous crew members on the sidewalk, they were filming.
Jason stared from across the street, transfixed as he watched the scene play out. When he finally heard a firm “cut” called out, he made him way over, his heart fluttering a tick faster as he approached.
