Here's my thing. I think Spike was great in the begining and then Buffy took their relationship to a physical level and then she immediatly started with the emotional and physical abuse. She also ignored Spike when he told her no.
She used him for sex and then regularly hit him after. She also beat him and left him for dead-or you know, the sun- in that ally. Buffy was horrible in season 6. She did things that a guy would never be excused for and she never acknowledged her wrong doing to herself, Spike, or the scoobies. It all became about Spike's wrong doing while Buffy got of scot free and that really bugs me.
I don't believe that Spike went there with rape in mind and Buffy had said "No" while meaning "Yes" many times before. However if Spike had not stopped and gotten the fact that she meant "NO" then it would have been rape.
-I'm not saying Spike was totally innocent in everything. I think he should not have been telling Buffy that she belonged in the dark with him and that her place wasn't with her friends.
As for the "Anya" thing. I don't feel bad for Xander and Anya. At that point in the show Buffy had used, abused, and dumped Spike. He got drunk and made a bad sex decision, but it had nothing to do with Buffy. He wasn't being malicious. He was just heart broken.
As for Xander....well he left Anya on her wedding day, broke her heart. He had no claim over her and no right to make her feel guilty about who she slept with.
