(RANT START) It was kinda a let down for me IDK if it's because I live for the drama but he didnt seem to care so much. Come on people buffy was the love of his life where was the pain? where were the tears where was the OMG I cant go on living like this!?!?!

this little sequence during the episode Heartthrob really bugged the crap out of me

Angel: "I am okay."

Cordy: "Then - what's the problem?"

Angel: "That I'm okay. That losing Buffy didn't kill me. That I could deal with it. - In all those years - no one ever mattered. Not like she did. - And now she's gone - forever."

Cordy: "And you're still here."

Angel: "Yeah. I just feel like I'm betraying her somehow."

well let me tell you something angel YOU ARE BETRAYING HER!! Why did he not even go to sunnydale to visit her grave and cry a little or to check up on dawn. I miss my angel from season 1-3 of BTVS

I suppose my anti-Bangel perspective wouldn't be much help here.

....but when has that ever stopped me before lol.

Anywho...yeah, I think Angel and Buffy had an idealistic love. She saw him as the mysterious older man and he had her up on a pedastal. In alot of of ways I see their love as a young love. You get very passionate and think it's forever and it breaks your heart when it ends, but then you grow up and realize that you had your moment and it's over.

I think Angel loved Buffy but he's just not in love with her anymore. He's moved on even though he kinda tries to cling to the past a little.

I think Spike loved her more. He was devistated and he stayed to care for her sister and help her friends. Then again I just think Spike loves deeper than just about everyone on the show.
